The 'Information Age' is upon us. It is transforming countries and the pace of change will only accelerate.

The changes being wrought by the Information Age are comparable to those at the beginning of the Industrial Revolution. Trade Policy for the last 25 years has focused on agriculture. For the next 25 years, trade policy will focus on information and the great divide will be between the 'information-rich' and the 'information-poor'.

It is essential, therefore, that Australia be at the forefront of this revolution.
